Cosmic Gate DJ Sets & Live Mixes

German trance duo Cosmic Gate, consisting of Claus Terhoeven (Nic Chagall) and Stefan Bossems (Bossi), officially formed in 1998. The two producers, who had previously released tracks with different projects on X-IT Records, met by chance in a studio and decided to collaborate. The result was "The Drums," a track that introduced their distinctive hard trance sound and marked the official birth of Cosmic Gate. This early sound quickly established their reputation, leading them to dedicate themselves full-time to productions, remixes, and DJ gigs. Throughout their career, Cosmic Gate has demonstrated a notable evolution in their musical style. While initially known for their powerful hard trance, they began shifting their sound with albums such as 2006's "Earth Mover," which diverged from their previous signature. This progression continued with 2009's "Sign Of The Times," which embraced a more melodic and progressive trance approach, a sound now synonymous with their global DJ sets. In recent years, Stefan Bossems focuses on live performances, while Claus Terhoeven, alongside co-producer Olaf Dieckmann (Wippenberg), crafts the duo's studio output. A major career highlight occurred in 2018 when Cosmic Gate's remix of Gabriel & Dresden featuring Sub Teal’s "The Only Road" earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best Remixed Recording at the 61st annual ceremony. With a vast discography spanning prominent labels like Armada and Anjunabeats, Cosmic Gate maintains a significant and active presence in the electronic music landscape.
